We are novice permaculturists connecting to and cultivating a quarter-acre site in Eureka, California, ancestral Wiyot territory.
Since 2017 we've been nurturing the soil and bringing life to the land. We've planted native perennials and fruit trees, cultivated culinary herbs and healing plant medicines, built hugelkultur beds and a greywater system. With the help of Cooperation Humboldt, we've fully converted our front lawn and added a Little Free Pantry. We've introduced laying hens and are prepping for kunekune pigs. And we've launched our cottage food business, baking granola and making mustards - classic yellow, spicy brown, lavender turmeric, and rosemary thyme - in our home kitchen. Upcoming projects include healing hydrosols and tinctures made from our native plants, a food forest, an annual vegetable garden, a labyrinth, and an outdoor shower - stay tuned! We believe that permaculture, both in theory and in practice, offers a radical and beautiful pathway forward, toward a collaborative and connective life-world in which all beings, human and more-than-human, can flourish. We are grateful and honored to be in intimate relationship with this land, a systemic privilege driving us always to center reciprocity. We invite you to explore our emerging projects, to ponder our meandering reflections, and to share in the bounty that springs forth from love, care, and gratitude. Because all flourishing is mutual. <3 |
